A request by several, based on the classic first person shooter video game by Epic.
Before Gears of War there was Unreal.
-
The music is the original theme to the first game. The text used is based on the first trailer for the game.
-
Unreal concerns a prisoner who is never named, awakening after the ship ferrying him across the stars, called The Vortex Rikers, is attacked. Emerging from their cell, the prisoner discovers all crew members hacked to pieces by unknown enemies, the Vortex Rikers having crash landed on a forested world called Na Pali. Outside two native alien species are at war: the four-armed primative Nali and the technologically advanced but warlike Skaarj.
Caught up in the conflict, the prisoner becomes a hero of the resistance thanks to his hardiness and knowledge of weaponry. One bullet at a time he brings the fight to the invaders. Perhaps this selfless crusade is meant to redeem his previous record as he puts his life on the line to rescue the oppressed alien culture.
-
Unreal is a game that was literally developed in the programmers garage and went on to start a massive fan base and develop an engine which still bears the game's name to this day.
In an era where movies have simple themes hidden by complex and confusing plots, it would be a breath of fresh air for me to see so simple a story told in the interests of bringing deeper themes to light. Maybe the prisoner sees something of himself in both races. Maybe the races themselves have different approaches to the newcomer.

  • A question: what does that huge nuke reference Unreal to?

  • @Tutano2004

I wanted to up the scale of the war a bit. In the game, sort of like Turok, the battle between the two societies was downplayed because of the limited technology. With a scene of total devastation the stakes of the conflict could be made more clear I suppose.

  • " i am the monster "

Kid- Oh, don't be such an emo

  • @Haloid98867

Its funny. That line is in the Riddick trailer but not the Riddick movie!

  • What film's the Vin Diesel voice from?

  • That's from Chronicles of Riddick: Dark Athena :)

  • @1MichealMyers Hell yeah, imagine the security scene with the skaarj waiting in the hallway...

  • Dude this is a top notch trailer. I hope they make a real unreal movie. In my opinion: "Kurgan" The bald Male one with no shirt should be the main character. Perhaps they can use Vin Diesel or Stone Cold to use him. It would be an epic movie,

all unreal gamers would jizz in their pants! Including me! :O

  • @Ultramarine998 Its from Pitch black

  • Fucking EPIC!!

  • It would be cool if it had a Unreal Tournament TV Series trailer or opening. :P

  • This is not coming out is it? I'm an Unreal fanatic fan... I'd love if a film about Unreal came please pm me

  • q podre!
