MQM chief Altaf Hussein demands action against corruption

The appeal of the MQM chief Altaf Hussain to recover government assets from corrupt officials, who got those written off by underhand methods, is indeed the rightful demand that every Pakistani should make of the government. In the recent war against terror, the government of Pakistan has closed its eyes over the corruption in various departments of the public sector. This has resulted in a loss worth dozens of billions of rupees to Pakistans economy. The lack of accountability on behalf of the government has been the main reason of unceasing nationwide corruption in many government departments. Even the latest power crisis has repeatedly been attributed to corruption in the energy sector. But other sectors like defense, education, health, revenue and taxation, police, and other forms of civil services are teeming with corruption due to lack of any strict accountability procedure.
