  • Cantonese is indeed more slangish lexically and grammatically thus lending itself more to casual register than Putonghua. The loose grammar structure of Cantonese mimics conversational usages much closer than the more structured Putonghua. Cantonese therefore sounds cruder, rougher, blunter but more direct and less veiled by fake politeness.

  • @hliu376 just saw his other videos, he always sound sleepy, thats why the editor inserted a lot of info during his segments. but his videos are really interesting,

  • Cantonese is really brusque of a language, it's not elegant.

    Alot of foreigners who study's Chinese gets really repulsive when they first hear Cantonese after long time from studying Mandarin.

    Cantonese is just not classy, not something you can present to the table.

    Think about it, foreigners say, you actually have an advantage "not knowing" how to speak Cantonese in HK, see what I mean ?

  • Teach Cantonese in Guangdong school for Cantonese children.
