  • I enjoyed this announcer and all american announcers. Dont know why we need these annoying foreigners calling our races. Dont see americans calling races in england or japan do you?

  • Sad, but y'know - lose weight people.

  • Almost three years later and Luke is still greatly missed by all his Turf Paradise friends! I consider myself lucky to have Luke as a friend! I know it sounds cliché but he was one of those very special people that made everyone he met feel like an old dear friend! We still love you and miss you, Luke! Thank you for touching our lives!

  • Been in the horse buisness all my life and he is one of the greatest I ever heard. I did not live far away, so I had the fortune to hear him call all 6 All American races he called in Ruidoso New Mexico. I traveled there several times A year so I heard him do many many races, one of my favorite callers ever. I will truely miss him and his talent.. R.I.P. Luke...

  • a great race caller. sadly missed. churchill will never be the same.

  • Luke was an accurate race caller. Sadly, it was always the same race over and over again with no real color to it nor excitement. The man had the voice and the passion which was fantastic....but he was an old school kind of announcer which some people dont like. I heard that the ELP staff asked him to go to the dr and he didnt want days before his death. Does anyone know if that was true?

  • Thanks for the post. Luke was a great friend of mine. Met him in New Mexico in 1990 and we've been buds ever since.

  • What a Great Guy Luke was. He will always be loved, and always be missed! The Live meet will never be the same without him!

I hope he has as much fun in Heaven as he did in Kentucky!
