This is Part 8 of the 10-part High Spirits Flutes' second video series on how to play the Native American Flute. In this part High Spirits flute maker Odell Borg discusses selecting a proper flute style and key for your particular needs. Keep in mind that he has changed his flute styles since this video was produced, but the general principles remain the same and his six-hole flutes can be played as five-hole flutes.

I studied classical guitar for years and got an F# in Moab this week. A little trick I learned to get rid of "squeek" on the guitar was just to put a tiny dab of vaseline on my finger tips and rub it in. I tried it on the flute and sure enough it works like a charm.. Don't put so much on that you're all greasy, but just a bit to moisten the finger tips and you're good to go.. It's also non-destructive (actually good for) to the wood and finish as I've been doing this on wood guitars for years.

I fully agree, I own two and both are like there own person. My F# is nothing like my G
I had the G key first and got the F later, I have learned to play songs on both, But I have learned also, that each has song's of there own!
