Dungeness Crab season opened July 1 in the Puget Sound and what better way to celebrate the beginning of the long weekend than hit the water for some freediving. One of our favorite spots put us deep in the crabs for some great diving and crabbing. All video was taken on July 1-2, 2011. Happy Fourth of July!

a toxic load test was done on those crab in 2009. You'd be safer eating a rectal thermometer

Holy moly! Where do I get a suit at? I have always just used the 9 mm suits for scuba diving. Just signed up for bottomsounders on Yahoo. I live in Mukilteo!

@Jizzack77 There are numerous places you can get suits - they can be challenging to order online for sizing reasons. Best to try them on first or go custom. Scuba suits will work, but are not idea for freediving for reasons including warmth, flexibility, and mobility. I highly recommend taking a freediving course to learn safety and technique.
