17:13 - On August 19, 2010 my dad and I headed over to Akin, Illinois on the Bluford Subdivision to catch the first ever train departing the brand new Sugar Camp Mine that is located on the east side of the tracks. The Evansville Western Railroad has a connection on the east side of the loop that connects to its main at Mcleansboro. In this video the locomotives begin to pull hard as the last coal car comes off the connection. IC 1015 is sitting in the Rust Storage track off to the left.

18:02 - Now the train is up to track speed and the coal dust is flying. Here you get to hear the ES44DC's Nathan P5 Horn.

  • @Herthan there was some issues with the railroad most likely because cn does the hauling for american coal

  • I work for the company that hauled the rock to build the mine roads and other stuff what a cool job it was

  • what was all that noise in the background in the beggining? cool shot

  • okay im going to sound like an idot here, but can somone please tell me why they didnt spur off of the cn line that runs RIGHT there?

  • very nice video - good camera and edit work

  • OMG, just two engines on that load????? CN better take a clue from BNSF and UP and put a DPU on the rear, or at least a third front engine. Great video, interesting angles and very well done.

  • Excellent Job. Great video.
