I had the Nord C1 out of it's bag and decided to upload a video. We sing this song often in our church and I enjoy playing it.

  • That's fantastic that you have that old time gospel sound down... You're bass line is is nice and you got those old block chords. I have the NORD C2 and I love it! The fake real Hammond case in front of it is cute too... Have you tried out the Pedal Keys 27 too...?

  • @EddieLandsberg I haven't tried the Pedal Keys 27. I checked your video with them and they do sound great! I will be checking out your other clips tonight when I get in from work. I'm using the PK-7A pedal and it has side switches on the volume pedal to control the Leslie speed or on/off and a sustain pedal for when I connect to the QRS pianomation on my piano. I'll have to do some research on the Pedal Keys 27 as it sounds like another great pedal unit for the Nord.

  • @southerncrescent1401 The Nord's strength, in my book is that at 16kg. I can take it on the train... unfortunately, the pedals rule that out... I'm going to start a new YT channel with more solo playing... Its very rare that people get to see solo Hammond. I usually play LH bass and toe tap on gigs, but when I'm alone, I love romping on the pedals.

  • @EddieLandsberg Let me know when you have the new YT channel. I have enjoyed your videos on your current channel. Another plus with the Nord is that it is also a midi controller. That will allow you to add sound modules for more sounds to enhance the Hammond sound.

  • @bboytony209 The "Hammond" portion of the Nord C1 in my opion duplicates the Hammond sound very well but the Hammond only produced a "flute" type sound. The C2 that is out now has pipe organ sounds. I use a Roland sound module for different type of sounds. I use a bell sound in Honey in the Rock, Vibraharp sound in Softely and Tenderly and string sounds on Whispering Hope. Wersi organs have many realistic sounds but they are not as portable as the Nord C1 or C2. I'd like to have a Wersi.

  • @southerncrescent1401 more on the sound but a bit on the melody.. its jst that this is my cup of tea... im looking for reveiws on this electric organ cuz im looking to purchase one.... but ya..

  • @bboytony209 Is it the organ sound that makes you think of old creepy clowns, or the melody? After reading this comment, I played this clip again and to me the organ sound is what gives it the creepy clown sensation rather than the melody itself. I was wondering if it is that way with you.

  • im sorry but this sounds hella gay.. it makes me think of old creepy clowns at a local town fair.... :-(

  • @southerncrescent1401 Thanks... Wel, the Nord Cx can still work as a pure MIDI controller together with a pedal board plus a sweller. On the connected PC, there is still unending possibilities.

  • @MinEgenKanal On the C1 models there are no bassoon, strings, nor vox humana stops. Nord has introduced a C2 model that has pipe organ stops. I haven't checked those out but I'm sure at least it would have a vox humana and bassoon. I and strings would be nice. I use strings often through the Roland sound module that is also played through the Nord C1. I wish they would come out with a carillon option with different bell sounds. But that will probably never happen. One can always wish though.
