Tekken's Eddy Gordo 15 Years Later: The Art of Motion Capture

Welcome to the second episode of Good Job. Our new show where we look at the well known, and not so well known jobs in the video game and film industry.

Today we're talking to Nateon Ajello from Mixamo, where magical things happen in the world of animation and motion capture. Nateon happens to be a student at a martial arts studio run by the original body actor for 1997's Tekken 3's capoeira master, Eddy Gordo. So we got the two together to make magical motion capture things happen, marking the 15th anniversary of Marcelo's video game debut.

If possible, I'd love to see videos about the world of gaming soundtracks. How do companies choose composers? How do they decide what goes and stays? What influences them and what makes a soundtrack or song "iconic"? What about long term composers like Nobuo Uematsu who scores Final Fantasy, and how important it is to keep that sort of name-brand recognition? As always, thanks for the videos guys and gals!

From Pit Fighter to Tekken Tag Tournament 2, it's amazing how we still use a lot of the same technology, and we've just gotten better with it. This, LA Noire... I'm simply astounded. Eddy Gordo was a great choice to show this off with, since he has more animations than probably any other character. I've always been aware of MoCapping, but this was a lot of fun to watch. alright I get you, some characters or moves are not motion capture.

thats from tekken 2 and it wasnt mo capped, only mocapped characters in tekken 2 were leiwulong and jun kazama from what i recall. alot of the animations in tekken are still not mocapped
