So I got bored tonight after an 11 hour shift, and decided to load up Impulse Tracker and remake another Mega Man 9 song.

This is the result. You probably don't know what this song is. It's special. That's all I know. Lol.

Once again the audio you're hearing is from the NSF, not the actual S3M.

Also once again, here are the files for download:

Enjoy. :)

  • Almost perfect! Wish I had your skills

  • Check out my latest video, it contains a link with the entire Mega Man 9 soundtrack remade. The entire soundtrack is not 100% perfect ..more like 95%. I tried my darndest..but you might want to check that out if you want to hear how everything sounds coming from real NES hardware.

  • That slide around 0:34 isn't spot-on, but everything else seems pretty darn accurate.

  • Yeah.. actually it's all the problem with the S3M format. The slides are all Amiga based which are not linear, but logarithmic depending on pitch of the tone, and sample length..When notes get high, pitch bends / vibratos get very sensitive.

  • Another problem is the 50% square wave effect in the intro, it's gone because I couldn't do the effect fast enough due to an S3M to NSF problem..where the software doesn't cut notes one frame before the next note plays, like it does in every other NES sound system. This causes two separate notes (if they're the same pitch) to sound like they're one long note..which kills the effects .. (it's also why I have SCx's everywhere in the S3M)
