@mermt Thanks for the advice!!! I wanted to sign up with a third party grading company but they charge for membership -_- so for now, I'm going to keep buying my PR70's and MS70's from Apmex!
@15dragons Hi there, If you buy from the mint, you might not get a MS 70 certification, as even a small bag mark or one coin hitting another may bring it down to an MS 69, however if you buy an MS 70 from a dealer you are likely to pay a premium, but you are guaranteed an MS 70. If you plan to continue collecting, I would try signing up with a third party grader, like NCG or PCGS and sent in a coin here and there to be graded, might be worth your while.
It really depends on the condition and the year it was made, some, for example 1879 and 1880 in condition are worth a few thousand, most in good condition are between $30 and $200.
Hey I am new to this but already enjoying it! One question, is it better to buy directly from the mint or buy perfect 70 certified coins from a dealer?
@loro1rojo For example 50 Kopek, the anniversary of the revolution in russia with lenin on the coin. Also represents the Former USSR country. Early 1900s polish coins - the time when poland was under communist rule and thats really interesting.
@loro1rojo im collecting and i told him im collecting NAZI coins he was pissed and was like WTF did you know what Hitler did to US and all those attrocities that happened in that war and i got a stern talking to by a jewish rabbi about the halocaust. and yes its a true story! i ended up paying for the coins in left. Now i collect these because its a piece of history that shall never be forgotten and thats the reason i collect coins, ever coin i get i can associate them to a part in time
@loro1rojo Yea, some jews do take offense to the symbol because it was a symbol that Adolf Hitler used and it was the symbol to the NAZI party and it was the NAZI who put them through hardship and all those terrible things that man kind cannot imagine happening. Let me tell you a story i was in a coin shop picking out there coins with WW2 german coins and i was almost done when a jewish person come in, i could tell because he was wearing a kippah he comes up and asked me what kinda coins
I agree, you are better off trying to win an auction on ebay or teletrade. Lots of options for you!
