I think you missed something when listening to this album. You missed the real effort the band put into those songs, you missed all the emotion portrayed (although the production didn't help), you missed the musicianship in a rather unjustified attack on Blaze (if you thought he was the worst choice for maiden, picture Ozzy or some Death Metal Guy singing) I personally think of the X Factor as a dark masterpiece, just like AMOLAD. I think that, like Powerslave, you should reconsider this album.

Seventh son was the last Maiden album I had until Brave new world came out. They are my #1 band. I listened to Bruce since his days with Samson.

i dont like your review sorry

I think this is a great album. You just say its "wank" because Blaze is on it. Thats one section of the album. The song writing kicks ass!

You skipped The Aftermath, I think ... Also I think a reviewer must accept all the stages a band goes through. The band didn't want another Bruce, they wanted something new, so they chose Blaze, accept that and try to enjoy it. Btw, The Sign is one hell of a masterpiece, the instrumental part is Maiden's best IMO.

I respect your opinion but personally, I like "The X-Factor" and "Virtual XI" more than "No Prayer for the Dying" and "Fear of the Dark" and their more recent albums. Both Bruce and Blaze are amazing singers with different styles. I think Bruces high and positive voice wouldn't have fit with the dark mood of this album.

idk man sounds pretty good to me

The X Factor wouldn't be the same without Blaze. He's a FANTASTIC singer - and whilst your opinion of the album is personal - you can't justify the fact that he's a poor singer. Listen to Silicon Messiah - then come back.

one of my favorite 90's Maiden albums, Blaze does an awesome job on this album, and i respect him for keeping Iron Maiden alive during this extremely turbulent period.
interesting fact - the X Factor album peaked at number 8 in the UK Albums charts while Virtual XI only reached #16... the lowest charting and worst-selling Maiden album of all time =/
