Everyone going on about how they are surprised by how well he can sing obviously never heard his very first single which was much slower than the pop songs he makes now. And stop calling him a rapper. He's an RnB singer. 2012 and people still dont know the difference! The stupid pop songs with Kesha etc are really to do with record labels who want to top ten hits. The artist is merely an employee who does what the boss wants. Proper RnB and non of that auto tune = no radio spins = no sales.
