This is a trailer for my forthcoming documentary about my father, John Olmsted. After a brief and bittersweet marriage to my mother, my father simply could not contain his dream of following John Muir into the woods and against the bulldozers of this world. Following Jug Handle nature reserve in Mendocino, my father has been instrumental in saving Bridgeport covered bridge, building the Independence Trail state park, and purchasing thousands of acres of land for eventual public use; leaving my brother and I without a father during the process. This film is about reconciliation, now that my father has been given six months to live, and I have become his caregiver. Learn more at www.aldenolmsted.com

John Olmstead was a bright, bright light and never failed to teach me something whenever I encountered him. I'm sure that his heart will shine on, just around the sweet bend of the Yuba.
