This is DaVinci's Notebook performing their masterpiece song, "Title of the Song." at an a capella festival at Lubber Run Park in Arlington, VA, in July 2003. I already loaded a lower-quality version of this performance but this version is better quality -- it lets you see a little of what Storm does in the audience when he wanders off the stage. These guys were just crazy entertaining when they performed, absolutely hilarious.

Storm DiConstanza is on lead vocals, while behind him (from left to right) are Paul Sabourin, Richard Hsu and Bernie Muller-Thym. Paul co-wrote the song with Richard (I think) Greene of a well-known a capella group called "The Bobs."

I shot this with a digital 3-CCD semi-pro camcorder onto DV tape and it took me a while to find a DV camcorder to load the best-quality version into my computer. I hope you enjoy it.

  • anybody know what happened to Bernie here?

  • @drinkstwohanded I sent Bernie a note and asked. He replied but it didn't really clear up what happened. Scroll all the way to the bottom of these comments and read from the bottom... his comment about it is down there.

  • If anyone knows where I can get the sheet music for this please message me.

  • @bbstenor419 I suggest going to the web site of Paul Sabourin and Storm DiConstanza, who wrote the song. Go to paulandstorm (dot) com and leave a message.

There is a davincisnotebook (dot) com site, but it looks like it has been hijacked from the band's original site.

  • This song, lyrically, is the best ever penned. It's a shame (and more than a bit telling) that people don't "get it". DVN was, by far, the greatest a capella group to have ever performed. And, for every group that attempts to perform this in the future, two things: 1) Great choice, and 2) Don't forget the Boy Band Choreography! That really makes it!

Thanks so much for uploading this!

  • @emilynrory You are very welcome. I don't know that this is the best song ever written, but it holds its own against some great songs. DVN was the whole package: excellent voices, superb songwriting and and a highly entertaining stage presence. They were maybe five years ahead of their time.

If you haven't seen it, watch my upload of "Magic Kingdom in the Sky"... hilarious!
