Good question. He was a little fast around four and was running wide. It's hard to correct, but if you can correct (lift/brake) with the wheels straight, you might salvage the turn. Your bail out is to brake straight through turn 5 (sharp left coming up) and hopefully lose enough speed before you go off track at 5. There's more run-off room at 5..

Well, a thousand dollar roll cage wouldn't hurt though either. lol

There are lots of turns at lots of tracks that have danger, but you don't really sense it. Turn 4 at Summit is different. It's plain scary as hell. It's also as much fun as any turn I can think of. It would be nice, though, if there was some runoff room!
Glad you're OK. Cheap, safe track cars are your best protection (physically and financially).

That could have been a lot worse, glad you made it out okay. Obviously, when it all goes wrong alot is happening in a short amount of time, but try to remember to take your hands off the wheel. That is a key rule to remember when in a bad "shunt". Your hands/arm could have been broken easily there, and then you would not have been able to get out on your own quickly. Add fire to the mix and it = Bad stuff.
