Sorry, when I try this my option for wirless syncing on my iPod is greyed out unless it's plugged into the computer. And yes I ticked that box on iTunes and it is still ticked and I applied and all that. But the option in the iPod touch is just greyed out.
I run a Windows 7 computer and a iPod Touch 4g :)

My iPad always asks to hook up to iTunes then sync

i got iOS 5 yesterday and for some reason, when i go to the itunes wifi sync under general settings on my itouch (4th generation), the "sync now" can't be selected Like it's faded out so when i press it, nothing happens. it says "automatically sync with itunes on your computer when your ipod touch is plugged in to power and connected to wifi. sync will resume when "(my name)'s macbook pro is available." both my mac and ipod are connected to the same network. help please???

FINAAALLLLYYYY IOS 5 IS OUT #EXCITED XD
Wondering if you can set a schedule to sync via wireless ? once a day, week etc. ?

@jcwuerfl I didn't mention it, but it looks like it works like iCloud. When the device is plugged into power, it will automatically do a sync, provided your computer is running with iTunes at the time.
It might be nice to do it once a day even on battery because usually I plug my device in at night and my computer is shut down. We'll have to see...

When you download that app on your mac, iCloud automatically downloads it to your iPad, so why would you need this ?

@lorikzzz because you sync more than apps and if you don't sync, all your app data isn't saved.

@wwwinsanelygreatmac @lorikzzz I think the greater implication is synching music playlists and podcasts and videos and other stuff you may have moved or changed or added, but aren't things you wouldn't have bought of the store (thus not having been pushed to your ios devices)
