  • I can say after sitting ( and taxying) in the RCAF Mk.X Lancaster you actually feel like your defending an Empire with an Aircraft like that.

the bravery of the RAF crews on the night of the Dams raid takes its rightful place in the long and storied annals of UK history.

    it must NOT be forgotten.

  • I only learned recently that I had a cousin on my dads side who ended up being a tail gunner in the Dambusters. One sortie his plane didnt return, and his wartime photos of him sitting in the tail position with chunks of aircraft missing around him are kept in the family with great pride.

  • OptimaxX hello, are you the guy who was at the Dams on the tthe last remembrance day, playing the Last Post

  • sad that it isn't an actual Dambusters Lancaster

  • @tinnsell I couldnt belive how the "bomber boys" werent allowed to have their memorial at the Museum in Auckalnd.I* think that has changed now.

  • amazing wish i could of witnessed it myself, good video

  • It is truly amazing how something so big can be so awe inspiringly gorgeous, graceful and elegant

  • its amazing isn't it? such great beautiful vehicles that are, and always will be remembered

  • I have to admit when I first watched this I assumed that this was a memorial flight on one of the target dams. I thought, geezh, the West sure is pretty tight that the locals allowed the English to memorialize the attack. I'd kinda be like the US flying a B-29 on the 60th ann of Hiroshima. Then I looked it up Derwent Reservoir .... Very tastefully done.
