I sometimes use an end fed wire for the contest but this time I really want to get a better score.
This is my 80m dipole made from Kevlar wire, unstretchable and unbreakable...
First contest with the ICOM IC-7400! wish me luck

  • @IdahoViewing Hi Steve

It was made by Racal for the British army, its 12 meters tall and I put a stub in the top to mount my antennas to.

Its light, I can carry it on my own and set it up no problem

It can be ground mounted or vehicle mounted.

Its very very strong and perfect for portable use.

    More info here

  • Could you describe your mast, please? Went pretty fast on the vid!!!!!

  • @k6lsn Hi John

I should recorded some of it, it was manic!

I beat my highest score.. by nearly 4 times over!

I scored 114 qso's which I'm over the moon with.

Next time i'll record some of it for you.

It was a massive improvement using the ICOM Ic-7400 over the Yaesu FT-897d and much much easier.

    73 and good DX
