The Alley Project by Once Removed and Under/Overtaken Collective (Toronto, Ontario and Montreal, Quebec)

A shared program of contemporary dance from Toronto and Montreal: NUMEROLOGY is inspired by the English ritual dance tradition, 'rapper sword-dancing' wherein each dancer is linked to another using flexible metal swords. UNDER/OVERTAKEN physically explores the universality of inter-gender situations, and investigates how gender-specific power struggles reflect social realities.

  • This single presentation makes me want to see all of "Numerology". Hannah Naiman is taking risks ever bolder in her choreography and simultaneously uses traditional material with the greatest respect! This is superb!
