The pedal desk was developed and constructed by a group of students at UC Davis for a class on sustainable living. It was designed to educate people about energy usage through an interactive use of human power. It is safe for public use and has an easy to use touch-less interface that allows the user to power and use a laptop, or any other low power device, entirely off grid by pedal power. The desk will be available for public use at the student commons on campus.

  • We don't have current plans of incorporating one but it could be done(although I suggest insulating said beverage). If you have one that plugs in it could be used for this now just bring a splitter and be prepared to pedal that extra bit to power it. We have powered 500W lights for short periods of time(not easy but withing design spec).

  • any chance of including a beverage/cooler& or warmer?

  • Just like the example in the contest announcement!
