Gay rights marches in San Francisco used to be really scary to kids. Angry, yelling, barely clad adult men in clown facepaint. Enough to make an entire generation of children into homophobic adults.
Had the marches been like those of Martin Luther King, Jr. or of Susan B. Anthony, or Ghandi or Nelson Mandella, there might have been fewer people that distrust people to make good parents.
I hope the yelling doesn't come back. That was scary.

I just realized that I have heard a story about this, I know a guy who was at that march. He's not in the video, though.
