Consul General, Lesly Condé, and Assistant Consul General of Haiti to Chicago, Pierre Romeus, attended a Valentine's Dance and fundraiser for Haiti in Highland Park, IL, sponsored by the Music Institute of Chicago-Highland Park Campus. The Consul General spoke about the needs of the Haitian people and showed great appreciation for the ongoing relief efforts undertaken by the people of Highland Park and Americans throughout our nation. Listen to his speech and enjoy some of the music provided by a Haitian band, Rafo International Combo, as well as Dr. Mark & The Sutures, a local Beatles Band. The Emergency Relief Task Force of Highland Park is collecting donations through the Highland Park Community Foundation, a 501(c)(3). The Foundation will research the most effective way to help the Haitian people and ensure 100% of all contributions will go directly toward Haitian earthquake relief. If you are able to make a contribution of any size, please mail your check to The Highland Park Community Foundation P.O. Box 398 Highland Park, IL 60035. Please be assured that donations marked Haitian Earthquake Relief will be segregated and used solely for this effort.
