  • This is my 3rd time watching this and want 2 say Thanx again for this i sent this video 2 my relatives in florida. tthey liked it. I hope fred is ok. where did this documentry come from and who filmed it?

  • Thank you,human-reality at the heart of warmth.I Loved that place. No reason on earth can justify its destruction. There it stood& smelled so good, those hot dogs grilling. That bravely beautiful little-place could've & should've been saved. How we were lied to & told that that block would keep its character.Little by little ,it was boarded-up.But,i really believed those liars as more n more came-down. But,the hot-dog place hung-in there.Thank God 4 this video, that heavenly hot-dog-smell LivesOn

  • thank u 4 the reply, when this cold crappy weather melts down, i'm going to find that exact location.i know it's gone, but i'm willing to research the streets of t.s. just to be on the block. what was the address??

  • Like a Twilight Zone where you wake up in another era. It's hard to believe the Grand still looked like that in 1997, not that long ego....seems like ages ago. My have things changed quickly. It's hard to believe such a hard scrabble little luncheon counter place survived at literally the crossraods of the world for so long. 42nd between 7th & 8th....the duce! Well done litte doc!

  • Amazing - just amazing. Saw the little luncheonette in so many photos of 42nd street over the years and I wish I had the chance to visit NYC and go there.
