17 secs is good. And even 25 seconds is nothing to complain about when this first class operating system is completely free of charge. Even if you buy the disc it's only £4 including postage! I use Ubuntu studio and get a boot of approx 20 secs.

Nice! You might want to add some annotations to point out to people that 9.04 is actually only booting from about 0:25 onwards.

add 6 seconds for desktop boot... after few months of usage its still 6...
