This Demo video shows the technique of using 'synthetic phonics' to sound out the individual letters and also groups of letters that make the same sound.
So for instance the word 'apple' is shown in a visual relationship with a real apple, it is also 'sounded out' using the 'synthetic phonic' approach where you break the word in to 3 sounds, 'a-pp-le', where 'a' is a single letter sound and 'pp' and 'le' are double letter sounds and then blend them together to form the whole word sound 'a-pp-le', a/pp/le, apple.
This technique is used throughout the DVD on all 26 letters with extra word and fruit examples in each case.

NOW a new on-line week by week guide to early literacy at an all inclusive price of only £2.99.

An excellent DVD '123 it's a fruity abc' has been produced using this principle - now available for all regions and dvd formats!

  • Is there an example for each sound that the letters make? For example, you showed the word apple which has the short vowel sound. But "A" has two more sounds, long vowel /A/ as in 'ape' and /ah/ as in 'pa'. Is there an example for these as well? What about the consonants that make more than one sound like "C' and "G"? Thanks!
