I made this video montage presentation about the story of a romantic relationship between a boy and a man. Set in the Netherlands near the end of WWII, the film is a flashback recalling an adolescent relationship between Jeroen and a Canadian soldier. A difficult subject handled with style and feeling.
Based on the 1986 autobiographical novel 'Voor Een Verloren Soldaat' by Rudi van Dantzig.

The relationship between this boy and this man does not bring up homophobia but pedophila.. There is a big difference.. but with that being said, it seems like the does 'like' love the man.. although I think he would have been satisfied with a more brothely relationship - just to feel loved.

A VERY courageous boy actor - Maarten Smit - ; obviously open minded and dedicated to his acting craft (and possibly truely gay - of wich there is nothing wrong with).
A beautiful, intelligently made film about an admitedly very controversial topic, intergenerational love.
And boys that young CAN fall in love. Most adults absolutely refuse to acnowledge this (it's called 'living in denial').

@hunkydory8015 Not much is known about Maarten Smit (Jeroen). Other than "For a Lost Soldier" and according to imdb, he appeared in a short in 1997. Thanks for the comments.
