The magnificat is said to be the most powerful statement every written in the world..mary acts as the model as the perfect union between man and God as incarnate in each human.. U also have to understand the idea of theosis to understand why mary is held in esteem.. no one worships mary but my poor protestant cousins don't know their roots.. u really have poor understanding of the faith and im not even catholic..

@kiwichristian2009 did u know ur daddy martin luther wanted to destroy the book of james? and yet this is who you follow.. please research ur church fathers before and ur historical roots before blasting people of other faiths.. every catholic and orthodox know we are saved by Christ and his grace alone.. also read the parable of the goats and sheep and tell me what jesus is saying in this passage.. the sheep all performed good works..geeze u protestant step children..

Through infant baptism, keeping sacraments, church membership, going to mass, praying to Mary, and confession (just to mention a few), the Catholic church has developed a system of salvation through WORKS. God's word says that we are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, not through works". "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." (Eph. 2:8-9)

The Bible says pray to God only, Mary cannot hear us! She is no greater than you or I. Otherwise we would have some direct command from God/Jesus/Holy Spirit to pray/thank her. We do not have that command in the bible because she does NOT intercede, help or plead our case before God/Christ Submission to God is from God (grace) NOT Mary.

@loudmouthspeaker If you going to contest what i say about the Catholic Church compiling the bible then you will have to present credible, historical evidence that says other wise. If your rebuttle is "NO THEY DIDNT....THE CHURCH IS THE SPAWNNN OF SATANNNNN" then that is not a rebuttle at all.

If you cant justify your point of view rationally, historically and intelligently then you shouldn't hold one.

@loudmouthspeaker you sound very ignorant, just parroting off absent minded fundamentalist dribble. You really need to read history. The believes of all the Early Christian leaders (many of whom were taught by the apostles) in the 1st, 2nd 3rd and 4th centuries are those of the Catholic Church.

The Catholic Church compiled the bible with 73 books at the end of the 4th century, if the Church is evil and pagan rationally its product......THE HOLY BIBLE, is evil and pagan too so why use it?

I was southern baptist since the day after my birth, then attended non denominational churches, but they were connected to southern baptist. I have been researching the Catholic Church for nearly a year now. I begin RCIA this month. I can testify I have never felt so close to our Lord Jesus as I do now. Thank You Abba! So much about the Catholic faith keeps you tied closely to the Lord!!

why,,,, we are told that believers are the temple of the living God.... God lives in us through the Holy Spirit.. the bible tells us to walk daily in the spirit and to listen to Gods guidence... why then do you need this pagan thing to lead you to jesus...

you dont need this to have a livining relationship with God... the church is really good at leading and seperating people from God... Jesus is the way the truth and the life... by Jesus we are saved..

@Ty921 @T2Todd2 . Why did Mary call YAHUSHUA Lord is she did not need a savior? If she was not wicked and vile as deserving of hell as all human beings are, then she would have been just as worthy as YAHUSHUA to die for mankind. YAHUSHUA chooses his servants not because they are but because he is holy and they are willing. YAHUSHUA in fact said that john the baptist is the greatest human being that walked this earth because of his willingness to serve God. Not because he was holy or sinless.
