@Toytrainsontracks How did you make the road bed/ground?
-
@BNSF5608 Hahaha! Looks as if YOU fell victim to being uneducated in the locomotive industry. SD50s were initially underpowered but some were replaced with 710 prime-movers in upgrades, hence the never-ending confusion between the sd50s & sd60s. MTH probably already knows this and used the same sounds for their models to save on time and money!

Not only is this an amazing layout, now it's making me contemplate the scale couplers with 3 Rail trains..? Can most Atlas O rolling stock be converted to scale couplers from 3 Rail type..?
-
@BNSF5608 Some SD50s underpowered 16-645 were replaced with SD60 16-710 in upgrades. So yes, SD50 did have 710s. because of this sd50s are often mistaken for sd60s. They look the same. Maybe the MTH sound engineers went into the field to "record" the sound of a real SD50 & one of these upgraded ones were all that was available at the time. Or they may have just settled on the 710 so they could use the same sound file in both the sd50 and sd60. So in a sense, the MTH model is somewhat accurate.

Is it O-Scale premeire that runs on 3 rails?
-
@trainmandan05 those aren't nubs, and they don't look horrible. That's the kind of nose lights that Conrail used. This appears to be an ex Conrail SD50.

What are those ugly looking nubs on the nose of that SD50? They look horrible.
what camera do you use and how do you film on a movin tripod???

wow you have one realy cool layout. how did get all the smoke and real noises for the power?
BNSF9250 2 years ago
@BNSF9250
The engines have smoke units, and some of the real sounds come from other video where I extracted the audio and dubbed over the video of the models.

how do you clean track inside tunnels

@ripjump12
I can crawl under a stand on my knees and access all the track. There is plenty of room.
