  • @The123qwertyui Lightning can CAUSE FIRE. If you are directly hit by lightning, usually you will be PARALYZED if you survive. Both can kill, but lightning contains the heat to make fire.

  • You are actually pretty safe in a car during a thunderstorm, as long as it has a metal body. That's because the car will form a "Faraday Cage."  If the car is hit by lightning, the current will be conducted around the outside of the body and then go to ground. I'm sure it would be pretty loud and scary, but you would be safe.
