Sweet looping with the Boss DD 20

It's me looping with my new Boss DD 20 Giga Delay pedal.

Using the Sound on Sound function I created a neat loop and then improvised a bit of a solo at the end.

As far as the DD 20 goes, its not quite what I expected in the looping department. For one you cannot loop the delay coming from the unit itself (im using another pedal for the first delayed sounds). You can use the DD 20 delay over a loop but once you engage it you are stuck with it until you want to stop the whole loop :(

I know its not a dedicated loop pedal (The Boss RC 20XL is my next pedal) but it doesn't have a quantise function, which can make it difficult at times to get a perfect loop.

@MrSvjoe I had a separate delay at the start. Once you activate the delay on the DD20 you cannot add any more layers.

i wonder if its only my amp, but when i loop with my dd-20 and start playing on top of it, the stuff i looped just sorta "scratches" out so that it don't sound too loud when i play over it. i've got a 200w Crate VTX amp.

I found if you put distortion in front of the pedal it won't handle looping too well. But behind the pedal I haven't encountered any problems

Does the loop only end if you switch it off? Or does it stops automatically after a while?
