  • Liasen to Peter Hurford's performance (on CD). It's slower than this (a little bit). It is in fact the tempo Widor played himself (available on CD) and it sounds wonderful.

  • That's cool... I have heard Widor's recording... which is where I got this tempo... and as we all know we end up playing faster than we practiced when we perform it... check out my Buxtehude... I blazed through that - I was shocked hearing the recording for the first time! I was not aware that Hurford had recorded that... although I should not be surprised - I love Peter Hurford - esp. his recording of the Liszt BACH.

  • Du lieber Gott! Wieso musste das Video ins Netz gestellt werden? Graußam ist kein Ausdruck mehr. Mis ist ganz schlecht nach dieser Aufführung. Nun muss ich ko.....en

  • Well... I shall answer that in the only German I know... in the words of my dad: "Das es einen guglefarten, meine liebe!"

  • and what kind of comment is this? and you are criticising my comment on your video?

  • yes

  • Its awful when nerves take over.. Feel so sorry for you man, Im sure you've learnt it perfectly by now and played it eyes shut.. ;-) dont stop playing it..

  • They say that it's not too difficult,

hey this performance proves what can go wrong, I bet the bloke had a few beads of sweat on his forehead during and after the performance and also the man turning the pages! I would like to have a go at it soon, if I could do a tiny portion that that man did I would be glad, well done!

P.S. How do we cope with 13 note bass pedals?

  • One of the most well-known pieces in the organ repertory. You need to articulate clearly, tempo was great. When pedalling take care to look ahead and find the right notes. On a 32 note pedal board you have to take even more care!

  • Not a bad job, I just learned this piece on piano, I don't have a organ at home so I had to learn the hand part on the piano. then i'm going to my church organ to figure out the pedal part. Could I ask you how long it took to learn it? and agian good job.

  • Good to see that Moller Still kickin!

    Good tempo

  • I'm baptist but practice in an episcopalian church along with teacher it's kinda wierd

  • I have the same problem, I play stuff perfectly and the mess it up infront of people
