i cant make my box transparent.
-
@TheSchrani You change the opacity to 0% on the top left.

is the box method easier than drawing all the individual lights and shadows. It does'nt look exact (the mesh),but it's an acceptable illusion. i mix both gradients and drawn shadows and light.

im havin trouble as soon as i try and grab my points it wont let me it just grabs the entire box

@TheSchrani Ctrl Click on the layer's eye, or press Ctrl Y on the keyboard. That will give you an outline view and you can see the layers below.

Cool Video, I like the way you make it sound simplistic.. Thanks

You are god send!!! I have an assignment due tomorrow and I totally under estimated how long this was going to take.
Ps another handy trick for the "floating" highlights and lowlights like reflections etc. Is to create a separate mesh over the top and blend it by reducing the opacity of the points on the edge of the overlying mesh to between 0-10%.
how do you get the box transparent? if i convert my box to gradient mesh it fills it automatically to white?

@TheSchrani You can't make the box transparent, you have to fill it with the background colour(s)
