@JayFamous13 No, he's not really confusing Pertwee's death with Troughton's. Pertwee died in the USA while staying with his wife at a friend's place.

@AngryOfMayfair Could be that you're confusing Pertwee's death with the death of Patrick Troughton. Troughton died in an American hotel on a convention trip in 1987. Pertwee went on to play the Doctor several more times on stage, radio, and television until his death in 1996. The 1996 Doctor Who TV movie was dedicated to him. His last acting role was as the Doctor in a fan film called DEVIOUS.

I live in Liverpool where the ad was filmed, the 'doctor on call' doorway IS actually a genuine Doctor's garage door and is still there!
