Jet Harris & Tony Meehan was No 1 for 6 weeks with this classic instrumental written by Jerry Lordan in '62. Classic and classic drum solo by 2 of the finest musicians. Enjoy!
A new music book is being published called 'You Are A Tube!' compiled by Steven Fried PLC. This publication contains literally thousands of comments from YouTube.
"Diamonds" is arguably the greatest of the lot when choosing something from the instrumental era. It's certainly up there with Apache (Shadows) which Jet was on. "Telstar" by the Tornadoes was also from the same era & "Because They're Young" by twang master Duane Eddy. Jet plays with such great tone here and Tony Meehan's drum break reminds me in its superb delivery of the fabulous Gene Krupa. Obviously an influence on Meehan - I've often thought.

@norristerse
It's well documented that it is Jimmy Page playing on this!

Apparently this was number 1 when I was born in February 1963.

@GIBurma
According to wikipedia (Dave Schulps interview with Page) this was the first studio session he worked on.

An absolute classic. Sounds as good now as it did in 1962! Thanks for posting.
