Shovana, the reigning Queen of Kathak A Soul Stirring Performer. This video is of her perfomance in IPS group of colleges, Gwalior. She is performing VISHNU VANDANA in this video. She performs in India and around the world, and has been awarded the Padma Shri. Her guru is Birju Maharaj. Ms. Narayan studied at Miranda House in Delhi, India (graduating with a Masters degree in Physics) and is also a career officer of the Indian Audits & Accounts Service.
Shovana Narayan is a classical example of a true Kathak, multi-faceted and dynamic, and presents a challenge to todays spectator. Her life, her works, her dignity and demeanour have made her a role model and peer for millions of girls of the younger generation of today.
