No but I've seen interviews with Rufus where he says as much - having seen the guy in performance and been amazed, I feel appreciation for him, and so sympathy for the family difficulties he went through -

I only meant that there was a real gap between father and son, and it was just a shame, they were both hurt by it - yes, who am I to feel compassion for a stranger, but I couldn't help it

  • Love Rufus' voice and how he delivers this song.

    A great father/son performance.

Sounds like a good drinking song for an Irish pub.

  • They are all super talented! Why does Rufus being gay even keep coming up? NEWSFLASH!!!! This is the year 2011! It is completely fine to be gay, lesbian, bi, or evn tran. We are all human. In the end, the moments we thought would never be significant are the "big things" that matter. So cliche but LIVE, LAUGH, and LOVE! AND, love good music!

  • Could one love a son that is homosexual? Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • oh you know them personally do you?

  • didnt have a loving father fuck off

sorry to offend, but no, I was not being snide, it's really true, Louden could never get past his son's obvious homosexuality, & was uncomfortable around him - so Rufus didn't have a loving father, at least not in a demonstrative way - & it's a sad thing to have one of your parents be ambivalent about giving affection & approval, based only on a percieved flaw in one's nature -- that's just how it went in this family, or as far as I've read - so I felt sympathy, from a distance -
