The glass screen is made of 475 panels of 19mm vertically stacked glass, set in a crenellated pattern. This sculptural divide lets in a maximum amount of light while providing privacy from the street. At every point the glass creates shifting phases and emotions as shadows and colours change kaleidoscopically throughout the course of the day. The realization of these effects required lengthy debates and numerous sketches to develop and execute this atypical treatment of materials; glass pieces were assembled and glued vertically, then suspended on a custom steel lintel.
