It is no problem at all Victor. Sometimes it is hard to tell with just the bare text exactly what a person means. I agree with you about the economy and birth rate, but I note that even during the good times of 2006-7 the birthrate only reached 1.4. This is certainly not enough to grow Russia much less keep the population stable. Certainly if there is sustained economic growth this will help and there will be more immigration however if Europe is any indication what wealth does to people. . .

i think the abortion and birth rate situation will stabilize as son as welfare and general econ. situation stabilizes. The actual growth only began when Putin came to power, so more good news ahead.

Please understand me, my statement is not an attack on Russia, far from it, I love the country and am sickened, saddened to hear on RT about the recent spike in abortions. In 50 years do you know how low Russia's population will be? In 100 if they keep going this way?
