Written by Scott Walker, this song deserved better than just being the flip side to "Stay With Me Baby" (1967).

  • Thank you for all these memories. I love Scott's voice! I was living in Tokyo in the 60's

  • Thanks to each and everyone of you. I just wish Scott knew how many ardent fans he still has - old and new. :)

  • Wonderful song, should have been a massive hit. Great images too, as always, I wonder where you keep finding them. You must have the greatest Scott-o-theque in the universe by now...

  • oo, I really like the Scott-o-theque term!

Well, let's just say that if you have the time and patience, the Internet can be an endless source of wonder... ;)

  • Just picked up The Walker Brothers box set, "Everything Under The Sun" & found this track. Have listened to it over and over. The vocal is astonishing (as is often the case when SW steps up to sing), the lyrics, beautifully romantic - a practically perfect song. Not sure if SW, when he wrote the lyric, may have been inspired by Auden's "Funeral Blues," "...The stars are not wanted now, put out every one; Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun." Either way, one of the best WB songs, ever.

  • I usually visit this site about once a week just to get my Walker Bros fix. Scott Walker to me as the greatest voice I've ever heard & the looks OMG! I used to sit there & drool over him. I remember clearly when they split up I was heartbroken. Thankfully later on I did see him in a solo concert at what was then Fagins in Manchester. It was a small cosy venue with only a small number of people there. It was an awesome concert & I still have the programme, it was January 9th 1973!

  • OMG! I love this song! I have to say I have been an avid Walkers fan since the early 60s when I saw them on Top of the Pops but I have to say I can't recall hearing this song before. His voice is just as beautiful as ever & the harmonies with John are great. I saw them play 3 or 4 times with such acts as Jimi Hendrix, Cat Stevens & Roy Orbison but it was only ever about the Walkers for me. Thanks guidofski for putting this site together its just so brilliant to hear that wonderful voice again.

  • walker br. forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I like this song very much! from Japan, and I like ' Joanna '.

  • Magic!

  • "30 Century Man" - a documentary on DVD of Scott's music through today. He is still recording although his music has changed greatly.

  • How did I miss this over the years? Wonderful.
