Instead of having to make little straight banks along the outside of a curved table, why not just make the thing a hexagon? Similar concept to the round table, but more predictable bank shots.

in a sense the ball does get caught. if you are up against the rail and between to pockets there is nothing you can do except bank the ball. Where as in a normal straight rail set up you can shoot the ball along the rail into a corner pocket. And in actuality any ball that is touching a rail can't be made unless you bank it across the table. I think that is what the person meant by getting caught

Nothing more than a novelty item. Any time a ball would come to rest on a rail it would be impossible to make. Can't cut it down into a pocket and cant predictably bank it off a curved rail.

This is just a bad idea. what happened? A normal table was too hard for you to play on so you had to make your own? Pool is fun already. It doesn't need anything new! I don't even think you can call this pool! this is just complete bullshit!

Theoretically you could still make it round. You could keep the table the exact same shape, but instead of the banks being curved, they could be a straight edge from pocket to pocket. The playing surface wouldn't still be round but the table would be.
