High Noon on the main stage, baby! (well...12:35) Hard work put them on an optimal timeslot undoubtedly one of the best years. You'll hear people say there were 20,000 people on the grounds this year. I distinctly remember (we filmed probably 10-12 hours this day) A staff event semi-circle / walkie-talkie blitz backstage where it was said 33,000 people had been counted and they were turning people away at the bottom of the hill. (true???) If you remember this year, almost every fence had been trampled by the time Slipknot went on. People were coming right outta the forest. A total free-for-all. Bottles, grass, backpacks, were continually airborne and the show was almost shut down after Barney (Palladium sound guy) and Mistress Carrie from WAAF came onstage addressing the situation. System of a Down stopped the song or two. Vendors were out of food and water. Godsmack was stuck in traffic in NY and were supposed to make a surprise appearance, but were a no-show. Ozzy was in a bus backstage sick and did not play "Shock the Monkey" with Coal Chamber. This show was huge & I wished we had been allowed permission to film on top of the rear sound booth out in the crowd with a better audio source.

Thanks to everyone on this including the guys who filmed, Chainsaw, Jo Mama, Jamie, Steve Shaw (SOAD tour manager......I still have those 5 tickets) The guys in Static-X, of course Bouv and Eastcide, the list goes on & on...... ... (more)

  • @ThatWouldBeJon so wrong dude all 3 are totally different bands

  • Don't get me wrong I loved System right until Toxicity released, at which point they started taking themselves much too seriously as an inspirational force in the industry. Now, they don't even make albums as a band, since almost every member thinks they're a Beatle who can be more successful alone.

  • System of a Down stopped playing? Those gaywads would do that.

  • i was in that pit lol when i was like 14 good time
