  • With one is harder:playing on the harpsichord or the piano?

  • Although i make my fair share of mistakes on the harpsichord, I think the rougher nature of the harpsichord timbre, as well as lack of dynamics, makes the ear naturally cover up some technical errors.

So I think piano is more difficult just because its a clearer instrument with more dynamic range. (at least a good piano)

Working on the prelude and fugue in G major right now from book I coming soon.

  • @dolofonos Is this based on the assumption that all the WTC was intended to be played solely on a harpsichord? Because nothing could be further from the truth. Only some of the songs were meant to be played on a harpsichord, some were clearly intended to be played on the organ, others probably intended for the clavichord or fortepiano. Making the modern piano a perfectly acceptable keyboard choice to play some Bach.

  • great to see piano and harpsichord versions, thank for sharing. personally i think this one is more suited to harpsichord whereas book 1 no.3 needs piano.

  • More Lovely Playing. Please keep it up.

  • Right you are. There's a reason music composed for the harpsichord is structured so. Personally, it pains my ears to hear Bach on the piano (and quite literally as well; something about the harpsichord covers up my tinnitus).

  • Can't wait until your other awesome performances!!!!

  • Bach is Bach with the harpsichord... nice

  • make it beautiful. make it slow. there's so much you can do with the sound of this beautiful piece.

  • Like your Harpsichord
