  • I saw that crash happen. I was only 12. My mom and I were at 7-11 on Orangethorpe and Walker. I say the Cessna slam into the DC-9. I said "look they're filming a movie!" I couldn't fathom a real plane crash happening before my eyes. The tail of the DC-9 made the scariest sound as it cut through the air with such force. Mom said "get in the car" and we drove over there. We saw people running around screaming and holding body parts! It was too much for me. It messed me up for a while. R.I.P.

  • This crash was simply a horrid mistake. Perhaps someone had filled the Flight Deck Captain's Cabin with Nitrous Oxide or Duct Tape. Whatever it was, "Conspiracy Theorists" such as my self would like to hope and believe that whatever happened it was "all to the good". They are all in Heaven right now...

  • my uncle jaime ventura died in this tragedy...it kills me that i never met him...and it kills me to know the pain of my grandmother

    RIP UNCLE I LOVE U!!!!

  • @cyndidalynn I grew up there, down the street off Bloomfield and South. There use to be a market Basket and a bowling alley there.

  • I was just blocks away, it felt like "THE BIG ONE" they been talkn abt most of mylife. I'm a valley girl but, lived their for several yrs. The concussion of what must of been the Plane crashing to the ground was so profound and surreal... I remember watchn the news hearing a family having a baby shower was struck killing all except dad whom left 4 more icecream or sumthin? Only 2 return 2 such a horrific scene. Not allowed 2 cross the P.Dept barrier, he was taken 2 the hospital, awaiting " NEWS"

  • My friend and his mom were on that flight. I remember his dad taking a train from San jose Ca. To try and identify body parts.

  • Thanks for posting this video on the tragic Cerritos crash. I just completed a documentary about another similar crash that happened a few years before - the 1978 crash of PSA 182 in San Diego collided with a cessna while landing at Lindbergh Field. It's amazing that this happened only 7 years after PSA 182.

  • @crazymama60 did they really almost take that flight??

  • I was curious. were they able to return the bodies to the families? I mean, back then, I dont think they had such advanced DNA testing where they could identify the remains. Did they just have a mass grave or were they able to indeed identify the remains and return them to their families????

  • I would never live there again. Thats why airports MUST to be located far away from populated areas.

  • Hi Noirpetix1! You have an awesome sense of humor! We should hang out! It's a Seinfeld reference, dork. Not exactly the most obscure one either.
