Of course we should only ask to be forgiven by God. Contrary to what a lot of sunni believe, SHIA does not PRAY to the Imams or ask for anything that is only in the hands of GOD. We believe that the prophet's children were the rightful Khalifas after Imam Ali. Not Drunks who end up Killing the Children of Our prophet. Very Simple logic, nothing out of this world. We mourn their struggle and their death. We believe in the Same God, Same Prophet, Same Quran. Everything else is Politics.

If you are talking about Hussein, I assure you I know his story, story of his father and family.
