Texas Instruments has built one of the world's most advanced semiconductor fabrication facilities in Richardson, Texas. The 300mm fab (building high-performance analog chips) was certified in 2010, and less than a year later contributes ~$2B/yr to TI revenue. You won't see people in bunny suits carrying boats of wafers in this plant - robot-like transporters do that.
(This iPhone video was shot during a tour that TI conducted for the Metroplex Technology Business Council in September 2011, by MTBC member Paul Peck, and only after permission was granted by the plant manager who joined us on the tour.)
