  • Sir, No I did not know Carl personally--he was & had always been my favorite BB, from the 1st time I saw them, 8/10/1964, to my final BB concert, 10/6/97, when he wasn't there, the show was flat, & all everyone talked about was Carl, & --would we ever see him ?? David Marks & Phil Bardowell were there in Carl's place, but it made little difference--the group did NOT do " GOK" , & John Cowsill sang Darlin, Bruce did " GV's " . Carl's total class gave The BB's total class. Wolfsky9

  • @Wolfsky9 True words you say there... I only discovered the BBs by the late 90s when Carl was already gone, but he always has made the biggest impression on me as a singer and stage personality. So the more and more I found out the more respect I gained for him, and it's really a shame that I never got the chance to see them live (although I can listen to the Lorelei show from 1993, which was the closest to my hometown). It must have been great to follow the group through all the years since 64!

  • Sir, when was this concert ? Before or after Harbor Lights, 8/23/96 ?? Thank-you so much for this--one last time, healthy Carl singing his masterpwrk. I miss him more as the years go by. Wolfsky9

  • @Wolfsky9 I can't tell you exactly but I guess it must have been mid-late 96. Did you know Carl personally?

  • @Wolfsky9 Where'd Billy H. and Eddie Carter go at this time?

  • You may notice a differing line-up here--look closely & you'll see Chris Farmer on Bass & Tim Bonhomme/ John Cowsill on keyboards. This was the '96 line up change, & little did we know then, what was to come with The Beach Boys, & the glue who held them together, Carl Wilson. It still makes me incredibly sad. Wolfsky9
