  • What is the trigger pull weight on the guns without the trigger guard? A friend of mine had a Derringer (unknown make) and I had to squeeze like hell to get the gun to fire. I understand the necessity for a heavier pull due to no trigger guard, but his gun was ridiculous.

  • Recently bought a Bond Arms Texas Defender. Got it from Academy and it was apparently made exclusively for Academy because it came with the extended checkered grips with the Texas star on it plus it came with the "driving holster" with the Academy logo embossed on the belt flap. Nice little package and got the whole package for $429.95 on sale! Got the .410 GA./ .45 L.C.model, shooting the Winchester PDX-1 .410 ga. and the Hornady C/D .45 L.C. it does some pretty impressive damage at 15 yards!

  • A somewhat nice derringer; however, getting real, it's no secret people get rid of it once shot because of its odd-ball trigger mechanism. A very odd design, but other then that, it's uh, little?

  • Great GUN! I own the Cowboy Defender with the 357-38 special barrel. When my girlfriend wants to shoot it we load it up with 38 specials and we both enjoy shooting it. When she doesn't want to go to the range I will take a box of 357's and have a little fun on my own. Needs the longer grips if you have large hands, but a fun dual purpose gun and well built..

  • @daleboyrdm Alright, good for you! You're gonna love the little gun; small enough to carry- big enough to handle business. Congradulations.

  • @WATCHINBEAR got me a bond arms century 2000!!! can't wait to take it out target practicing. the only problem is that the ammo that it uses .45 colt & .410 are kinda expesive, so I think I'm gonna call bond up and purchase a 9mm barrle for it. and maybe some extended grips.

  • Can't wait to get one. I love relatively simple work horses with no fuss. Being made in the US and small enough to conceal (legally) is a plus.

  • @daleboyrdm Well, you don't get to choose the barrel. Let me rephrase that: I bought the .45LC/.410shotshell; now- I can call "Bond" and purchase other barrels to put on my gun. You can change them out. They have .22 all the way up to .44 I think They cost about $175. As far as hurting my hand, not really. This is a beefy gun it's not your typical derringer. Plus "BOND" sells extended grips for added comfort.

  • @WATCHINBEAR oh cool! a few things I was curious about though, does the price you pay for the gun include a barrel of you're choosing? And does the short grip make you're hands hurt when using large caliber rounds. I was wanting to get .22 long rifle and .38 special and .357 magnum barrels.

  • @daleboyrdm I bought the Texas Defender just a few days ago and I love it! You WILL NOT regret getting it!
