  • Great scene from one of my favorite Jean Arthur movies. She and Gary Cooper are wonderfully believable here, and in the park bench scene too. Jean was an incredibly gifted and versatile actress.

  • One of the BEST scenes in movie history.

  • @williz1989 I know. Capra wrote that he had to put in the slapstick trashcan at the end in order to help the audience encapsulate the tenderness they had just seen. Capra... what a master.

  • Probably one of the most bittersweet moments in any film I've ever seen. Gary Cooper's presence is so heartwarming. And Mr. Deed's simplicity in how he expresses his feelings for Mary is refreshing and endearing.

Jean Arthur was so underrated as an actress... she absolutely breaks my heart in this film every time I watch it.
