This video shows a failure of a CRT monitor. I am sorry but my camera and your monitor cannot show the real brightness of the stripe. The whole light of the screen is condensed to a narrow light stripe! Can you imagine that?

Note 1: I am not going to repair the monitor because I don't need it anymore. Thanks for your advice but I just won't follow them.

Note 2: The dark or bright stripe slowly going down is made by camera - not visible otherwise.

  • i have a similar problem! not exactly same.

The display doesn't use the full screen (3/4 inches from top and bottom has become black). It does not become a horizontal line (like a star war's sword in this video) but it flickers up and down. Touching the monitor also does not help.

I'm confused whether it is the monitor or my graphic card? ( sorry, wrong place to ask but any help will be appreciated)

  • @niiikhiiil The easiest way to test it is to try connecting another monitor. Or make a video and post it to YouTube, look at how much advice I’ve got already. :-)

  • Time for a visit to the thrift store...

  • @niiikhiiil Bad electrolytic capacitor in the vertical section. Change the vertcal IC at the same time. This problem here is a bad IC, solder joint, or both.

  • electro gun problem!

  • @Fooster how do you think it's fake? its not, really the vertical amplifer in the monitor is weak and blown. and its not gay, how could an OBJECT be gay?

  • classic vertical ic failure but this one needs to be resoldered

  • @mirekmateju thnks buddy! It was the monitor. It's about time to switch to lcd! Appreciate your advice

  • Hi, you have problems with cold solder type, there are false contacts, the solution is to resolder the vertical defletion integrated circuit and that´s it. So when you play your hand the surface of monitor, it works normal; because the pins of integrated circuit maken contact again with the integrated circuit motherboard monitor.

    Greetings from Mexico.

  • @MrNbond absolutely man.......matter of fact...am using it RIGHT NOW!!
